Privacy Policy
Linescript collects no data. It has no account, no analytics and no ads, and it never connects to the internet. Everything it does happens on your Mac.
What Linescript works with
- Audio. While a transcription you started is running, Linescript listens to your microphone (your voice, only with headphones connected) and to your Mac's audio (the other participants). Apple's speech recognition turns it into text on your Mac. Audio is never saved and never sent anywhere.
- Transcripts. Each call is saved as a Markdown file in a folder you choose. The files stay there until you delete them. They never reach the developer.
- Settings. Your language, options and glossary are stored on your Mac. The token that protects the connection with AI assistants is stored in your Keychain.
What Linescript doesn't do
Linescript has no account, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no third-party code. It makes no connections to the internet. The developer has no servers and receives nothing from the app.
Language models
The first time you use a language, macOS downloads its speech model from Apple. The download is made by macOS, not by Linescript, and is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. After that, the language works offline.
AI assistants (optional)
This feature is off until you turn it on. When on, Linescript opens a connection that only apps on your Mac can reach (127.0.0.1), protected by a token. Assistants you connect can read your transcripts, the call in progress and your glossary, and, if you allow it, save summaries and corrections next to your transcripts.
Those assistants may send this text to their own cloud service. That is governed by the assistant provider's privacy policy, not by Linescript. You choose whether to connect one; turning the feature off closes the connection.
Call suggestions
To suggest transcribing a call, Linescript checks which apps on your Mac are using the microphone and shows a local notification. This information is not stored and not sent anywhere. You can turn suggestions off in Settings.
Crash reports
If you share analytics with app developers in macOS, Apple may send the developer anonymous crash reports. You can change this in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Telling participants
Linescript doesn't record audio, but transcribing a conversation may still require the other participants' consent where you live. You are responsible for informing them. The app reminds you and offers a notice you can paste in the call chat.
Children
Linescript is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone.
Your data and your rights
The developer holds no data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete on the developer's side. Your data stays on your Mac, under your control. You can delete transcripts from their folder or from the app. To also remove the settings, delete ~/Library/Containers/com.kCorp.linescript after deleting the app.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
